Spring Thread® is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment that corrects sagging skin and rejuvenates facial features by elevating facial tissues. By creating a new support structure for the lifted facial tissue, the treatment erases the sad and tired look, refreshes facial definition, and restores a more youthful appearance.

Unlike absorbable threads, Spring Thread® is comprised of permanent materials. It uses polyester threads with soft silicone cogs that are 100% biocompatible and have been used in surgical implants for decades. This makes the lifting substantial and the results longer-lasting. Additionally, the threads have a similar elasticity to the skin, around 20%, which allows them to expand and contract with natural facial movement and expression, leading to natural-looking results.

Spring Thread® is ideal for people with sagging skin who are not yet ready for surgical face lifting. It bridges the gap between non-surgical and surgical treatments, offering an effective and safe alternative.

Spring Thread® is designed and produced in France, ensuring high-quality standards and exceptional results.

What are the benefits of this treatment?

Spring Thread® lifting offers numerous benefits for those seeking to restore a more youthful appearance. The treatment effectively diminishes nasolabial folds, bitterness folds, jowls, and wrinkles, resulting in a more harmonious and rejuvenated facial appearance.

One of the key benefits of Spring Thread® lifting is its long-lasting results, with many individuals reporting satisfaction with their outcome even after two years or more. While the treatment is not permanent, its effects can endure for years before gradually fading due to natural facial aging and gravity.

If desired, individuals can opt to have Spring Thread® lifting performed again to maintain their desired level of rejuvenation. With its high success rate and natural-looking results, Spring Thread® lifting offers an effective and safe alternative to surgical face lifting.

What does the treatment involve?

Before the Spring Thread® lifting treatment, your doctor will perform a comprehensive assessment to determine the optimal placement of the threads for maximum benefits. This will involve drawing a guide to the entry and exit points of the threads and their path.

To prepare for the treatment, your skin will be sterilized, and your hair may be bunched up if necessary. The doctor may redraw the guidelines if they are no longer visible after a final cleanse.

During the treatment, tiny punctures will be made around the temples or behind the ears, and the Spring Threads will be inserted just underneath the top layer of the skin using a soft, blunt needle.

Once all the threads are woven into place, they are tightened and the ends are snipped off. There is no residual scarring from the procedure. Overall, the treatment is minimally invasive and can be completed in a relatively short amount of time.

How long does it take to recover?

The recovery time for Spring Thread® lifting can vary depending on the individual. While some individuals may experience minimal downtime, others may require a more extended recovery period.

Generally, it is recommended that individuals rest for 2-3 days after the treatment and avoid any strenuous physical activity during this time. It is also essential to avoid touching or rubbing the treated area and to keep it clean and dry.

It can take up to two weeks for the skin to fully recover and adapt to its new, elevated position. During this time, individuals may experience some mild swelling, bruising, or discomfort, which can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain relief medication and cold compresses.

Overall, Spring Thread® lifting is a minimally invasive treatment that offers a relatively short recovery period, allowing individuals to quickly resume their daily activities and enjoy their rejuvenated appearance.

Risks & complications

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and complications associated with Spring Thread® lifting. While the procedure is generally safe and well-tolerated, some individuals may experience certain side-effects.

The most common side-effects of the treatment include:

  • Bruising and swelling, which typically resolves within 2-14 days after the procedure.
  • Mild pain or discomfort, often in the form of a headache, which can be managed with pain relief medication and usually resolves within a day or so.
  • Bunching of the skin, particularly around the temporal area, which typically disappears within a couple of weeks as the skin reorganizes itself in its new, elevated position.
  • Inflammation, which can be managed with anti-inflammatory medication or ice packs for one or two days.
  • Infection, while rare, can occur with any thread lifting treatment. Our doctors take all necessary precautions to minimize this risk.

It is important to note that while these side-effects are possible, they are typically mild and temporary.

Patient Testimonials

"I am extremely happy with the treatment, and with the standard of care I have received. There is no doubt as to whether this treatment is highly effective. I have had several cosmetic surgeries (although not on my face) but can say in comparing the results of the Spring Thread procedure with other less invasive treatments, the results are more in keeping with the surgical procedures I have had." Spring Thread Patient Review, Kinsgbridge Cosmetic Surgery Clinic Patient
"I had surgery here at the weekend and I can't recommend this place highly enough. They took great care of me and kept me at ease throughout my stay. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and chatted away and the food was top class. This hospital was better than any hotel I wonder could I book a weekend away in it when I fully recover?" Mr McGinnity, Kingsbridge Patient
"EXCELLENT - Had surgery today under the very caring Dr Stewart and her team. I cannot thank her enough for all she’s done for me over the past few months. Everything was explained to me in detail and all my care was considerate, professional and compassionate. Everyone I’ve met today has been beyond kind from Will the Anaesthetist, the Nurses and theatre staff, the catering staff - there has been no exception. Thank you all for taking care of me so well today - look forward to getting home tomorrow x" Mrs McAleavey, Kingsbridge Patient

The doctors Roger Wilson, Sherman, David, the nurses Susan, Sinead, Siobhan, Andrea, the catering staff who provided customised halal food, and the remaining team whose names I cannot remember were the kindest, nicest, politest, the most caring, professional and pleasant people we have ever come across in healthcare environment. "Can’t praise Kingsbridge Private Hospital enough!! I had an operation a couple of weeks ago and I was so well looked after. My surgeon Mr Rashid was fantastic, and the nursing staff was also fabulous. I found they communicated very well to each other, so everyone knew when my meds were due, my allergies etc. They were so kind, so lovely, constantly checked to see how I was i.e. my temperature etc. The food was fabulous and the catering staff very helpful having had an operation were very happy to accommodate ... Thank you to all!" Ms Cheong, Kingsbridge Patient
"Staff very friendly and very efficient. Surgeon and surgery top class. Big thanks to the Nurses for all their care and patience" Mr Howard, Kingsbridge Patient
"I was in your facility yesterday for a day procedure (operation on my left arm). I wanted to write and express how impressed I was with the facilities and more importantly the staff on the Ward.

Everyone was excellent, and I mean excellent, i don't normally write congratulatory e-mails so this is high praise in my view. The Senior nurse was excellent, as was the Theatre nurse and the anaesthetist. Even the assistants that helped with catering and other duties. All came together to form a great impression of the establishment." Jason Carpal Tunnel Surgery, Kingsbridge Patient
