Laura Forker is a female pelvic health physiotherapist and pilates practitioner with 14 years postgraduate experience.
She graduated from the University of Ulster Jordanstown in 2008 with a honours degree in Physiotherapy and began working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist within a private clinic in Portadown and Belfast. She practiced extensively with spinal and sports injury patients, of all ages and backgrounds but her clinical interest developed in the area of female health.
She established a specialist pelvic health service within the clinic in 2016 for pregnant, postnatal, menopausal and athletic women for assessment and management of bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction, prolapse, back/ pelvic pain, diastasis recti and guidance on returning to exercise.
She also offers virtual pelvic health consults and online pilates programmes for pregnant and postnatal women.
She is a founding member of the pelvic health promotion group White Circle, which aims to raise awareness of pelvic health issues and how to access help.
She is also a trustee member of the Birthwise Charity in Northern Ireland which helps support, connect and empower expectant and new parents during the perinatal period and beyond.
Laura was a keen Irish dancer and netball player in her childhood. As a mum of two, she enjoys keeping fit with running and pilates training. She loves nature and getting out for forest walks with her family.
She frequently listens to podcasts or audio books about health, family life and business. She is passionate about photography and hopes to pursue further training in the future.
She dreams of a time when she can socialise more with her husband and friends but her little people are her priority right now!
