Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of Ward Physiotherapist within the Physiotherapy Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Northwest but may be required to travel to other Company locations depending on business needs.

Salary Ranging between £32,381 (Band 5.5) - £41,055 (Band 6.6) dependant on experience

Job Summary

Job Summary:

The post holder will assist in the provision and organization of a high standard physiotherapy service for patients on the Surgical Ward following orthopaedic / gynaecological / general surgical procedures.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. To accept clinical responsibility for a caseload of patients and to organize this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
  2. To use communication tools (verbal and non-verbal) to gain informed consent from patients and to communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximize rehabilitation potential and to ensure their understanding of their condition
  3. To be professionally and legally accountable and responsible for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care, ensuring a high standard of clinical care which is evidence based and appropriate.
  4. To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal and departmental requirements.
  5. To communicate effectively and work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and other health professionals involved in patient care, to deliver a co-ordinated service.
  6. To actively participate in matters relating to governance – including audit, mandatory training , inservice training and keeping up to date with advances in relevant surgical procedures and post-operative protocols.

Professional

  1. To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments and incorporate them as necessary into your work.
  2. To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of evidence-based practice projects, audit and outcome measures and to make recommendations to the Lead Physiotherapist for changes to practice which you feel would benefit the delivery of Physiotherapy.
  3. To demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management, the principles of which are applied to the work situation.
  4. To work professionally according to Professional and HCPC Standards and within Hospital guidelines/policies.

Organisational

  1. To be involved in the provision of specialist advice/teaching to other members of the team, e.g. nursing staff and nursing auxiliaries, regarding the physiotherapy management of patients following surgery.
  2. To plan and organise your day efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time, readjusting plans as situations change/arise.
  3. To demonstrate commitment to the provision of the Physiotherapy service by regular attendance, the efficient completion of tasks allocated and by showing flexibility in ensuring service provision is consistent and meets the needs of patients, the Physiotherapy department and the Hospital.
  4. To support other members of the Physiotherapy team by showing flexibility and offering practical support.
  5. To participate in annual performance reviews and development planning.
  6. Demonstrate willingness to accept additional responsibilities, work core hours and show     flexibility in meeting the requirements of the department and surgical ward

 

Health and Safety

  1. To comply with the organisational and departmental policies and procedures.
  2. To participate in and keep up to date on all mandatory training.
  3. To work in such a way that accidents to themselves and to others are avoided, and to co- operate in maintaining their place of work in a tidy and safe condition, thereby minimising risk.
  4.  To report any defective or faulty equipment to the Lead Physiotherapist.             
  5. To ensure proper care and usage of equipment.
  6. To report incidents / accidents involving staff, patients or visitors.
