Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of a Catering Assistant within the Catering Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West (Ballykelly). As a Catering Assistant you will be required to assist in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of the kitchen, dining areas, Pantry and trolleys.

Job Summary

Main Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of the kitchen, dining areas, kitchen equipment, floors & utensils.
Assist in the preparation and service of all meals and beverages for patients, visitors and staff to the required Hospital standards of hygiene and economy.
Preparation of patients’ trays and dining areas, ensuring that the necessary equipment, utensils and food is available in the required quantities and at the required time.
Deliver/remove patients’ trays when asked in a dignified manner, recognising the individual’s right to privacy/dignity.
Clean and clear kitchen, dining areas, Pantry and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment as directed by the Catering Manager/ess.
Carry out high standards of customer service including cash handling duties.
Adhere to good practice with regard to Hygiene, Health and Safety, COSHH and HACCP Regulations at all times, meeting all legislative requirements.
Assist with record keeping as directed by the Catering Manager/ess or Cook/Assistant Cook.
Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Catering Manager to ensure proper records are completed and correct action taken.
Participate in mandatory training as required.
Participate in annual performance reviews and development planning.

Essential Criteria

Basic Hygiene Certificate Essential
Minimum of 6 months catering experience essential.
