Job Summary

You will take responsibility for the day to day management of the pharmacy services, providing clinical pharmacy expertise to the wider clinical team.  You will coordinate pharmacy services within the hospital ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to best practice frameworks.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • To provide pharmaceutical expertise and input into the care of the patients within Kingsbridge Private Hospital to deliver an excellent medicine management service to all patients, supervising the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines for patients.
  • Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
  • Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.
  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients, demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
  • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
  • To facilitate the daily running of the pharmacy department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants and customers.
  • Provide clinical input with respect to medicines to all patients.
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory, professional and best practice frameworks.

Qualifications
 
  • Degree in Pharmacy MPharm, BSc or BPharm.
  • Registered as a Pharmacist.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
Experience
 
  • Minimum 2 years registration & 1 years within a hospital environment.
  • ICU Experience
Special Knowledge and Skills
 
  • Knowledge of key legislation such as Quality Assurance tools, the Care Standards Act and RQIA requirements
  • Effective clinical decision-making
  • Reflective safe practice
  • Ethical use of information
  • Laws relating to Pharmacy Practice
  • Specialist knowledge gained through experience
  • Proficient in the use of information technology
  • IT and Telephone interaction skills
