Job Summary:

 As an Appointments Advisor (Inpatient & Day case), the successful candidate will join a highly dynamic team responsible for scheduling surgical procedure appointments. The candidate will gain an in-depth knowledge of the Surgical booking process across a range of medical specialties. They will be a point of contact for all patients wishing to book or enquire about surgical procedures, so a key part of the role is managing a high volume of communications via phone, email and web-based communication.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Excellent customer service is something that should come naturally to you along with the ability to display empathy and demonstrate strong listening skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Scheduling of surgical procedures within specific time scales
• Ensuring all records are accurate and up to date relating to patient treatment
• Liaising with colleagues across a variety of teams
• Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of department

• Dealing with queries from patients over the phone, in person and via email, ensuring timely responses
• Help patients fill in paperwork and request documentation if required
• Liaising with external agencies in a professional and efficient manner
