If you are paying for your procedure with medical insurance, then you will need to liaise closely with your insurance provider throughout your treatment. You should be aware of the terms and conditions of your policy. If there are limitations as to what your insurer will pay, you should let us know about these in advance of treatment.
Kingsbridge Private Hospital partners with all major Health Insurance Providers
When you attend the hospital for treatment please make sure you bring the following:
• Medical insurance registration documents
• Completed claim form/proof of pre-authorisation by medical insurer.
Your claim form should be signed by your GP and, if required, by your insurance policy provider. At the end of your treatment, you will receive an invoice for treatment, which together with any consultant bills, should be forwarded to your insurance company.
Step 1 – Ask your GP for a referral
In most circumstances you will need a referral from your GP. Your GP will either give you a referral letter at your appointment, or they will make the referral to us on your behalf.
• I have a referral letter
If you already have your referral letter, please call us on 028 9066 7878 to book your consultation.
• My GP has made a referral on my behalf
If your GP has made the referral on your behalf, a member of our team will call you directly, usually on the same day, to arrange a convenient appointment time.
To make a claim through your private medical insurer, you will usually need to provide them with a referral letter from your GP.
Some insurers may allow you to self refer for certain treatments such as physiotherapy. Your insurer will tell you which conditions and treatments require a referral letter.
Step 2 - Contact your Private Medical Insurer
You should always contact your insurer before booking an appointment with us so that they can pre-authorise your treatment.
Your insurer will check that your policy covers you to see either the consultant you want or that has been recommended to you, at Kingsbridge Private Hospital.
If you have not been referred to a specific named consultant, your insurer will provide a choice of consultants to pick from.
Step 3 - Book your consultation appointment
We have a dedicated team who work with the insurers to answer any questions regarding the claims process, should you have any queries or need some advice. Contact the patient adviser team at Kingsbridge Private Hospital to book with us directly.
You'll need to provide your insurer details, pre-authorisation code and consultant name when you get in touch.
Policy on Excess Charges
Please note that there may be an excess on your insurance policy or some charges which may not be settled by your insurer. It is our policy to request card details during the booking process. These will only be used in the event of any shortfall by your insurer and you will be notified in advance of taking payment using the card details given.
