To help make your surgery and recovery as smooth and safe as possible, please take a moment to review and follow these important steps:
Alcohol and Smoking
Please do not drink alcohol the day before your Consultation.
Bringing alcohol into the hospital is not permitted.
If you are a smoker, you should try to give up or cut down as much as possible, particularly if you will be having a general anaesthetic.
If you are using nicotine replacement products, please ensure the clinical team are made aware. If you have any concerns about alcohol or smoking before your procedure. Please contact your GP or Kingsbridge Private Hospital on 028 9066 7878 for advice.
Medications
To help our team provide the best possible care, it’s important that we know about all medications you’re currently taking, including prescribed medicines, over-the-counter remedies, vitamins, or herbal supplements.
• Bring a full list or the original packaging of your medications to your consultation. This helps your consultant review your treatment safely and accurately.
• If you take blood-thinning medication (such as Warfarin), let your consultant know during your appointment. They will advise you if any changes are needed before a future procedure or test.

Booking Tests or Scans
If your consultant recommends further investigations such as an MRI, CT scan, X-ray, or blood tests, these can be arranged directly through Kingsbridge.
