If you need medical treatment but are faced with a long wait, did you know there is a way to access a speedy quality healthcare service?
Under the Cross-Border Healthcare Directive, operated by the HSE, patients waiting for surgery for procedures in the Republic of Ireland are entitled to avail of treatment in Northern Ireland.
The scheme covers any treatment that is provided under the HSE in Ireland, although not to anyone seeking an organ transplant or long term residential care.
It’s easy to apply – just contact us at Kingsbridge Private Hospital in Belfast. We’re part of 3fivetwo Group, Northern Ireland’s largest provider of private healthcare.
Ring 048 9066 7878 to speak to our One2One Patient Advisor, who will talk you through the simple steps involving in getting you off a waiting list and treated in Belfast.
Application forms can be downloaded by clicking here.
Private patients will need to revert to public patient pathways in order to avail of their entitlements under the Cross Border Directive.
To ensure superlative medical care, Kingsbridge Private Hosdpital have just invested another £4.5m in this flagship facility. This includes a £1m investment in the latest MRI scanner to offer same-day scans, along with a new National Sports Injury suite, upgraded theatres, CT scans and bespoke outpatients department.
Here’s what Eileen Mullin (73) of Cork, one of many patients who got off a hospital waiting list by travelling to Belfast for treatment at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, thought of her experience,
“I was in agony for 18 months with my hip, and using two crutches to get around before I got to see a consultant, who told me that I would have to wait at least 2 more years for a replacement operation at a local hospital. It was all so straightforward and easy. I am actually looking forward to going back for my check-up! A month after the operation, I can do most of the things I used to do. I am pain-free and have got my independence back. I am not dancing again yet, but I will be soon …”
