Kingsbridge Private Hospital, part of the 3fivetwo Group, are proud to announce their involvement in the 2014 Giro d’Italia Big Start as Official Medical Partner.

The role builds on a previous track record of providing medical support to large sporting events in Northern Ireland, the most recent being the 2013 World Police and Fire Games.

A team of doctors from Kingsbridge Private Hospital will accompany the Giro Caravan on all three stages in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland providing medical support for the 22 teams in the race.

The Giro d’Italia is a long distance road bicycle stage race for professional cyclists annually held over a three week period in May. Primarily hosted in Italy, the “Grande Partenza” has only been held outside of the country nine times. The Irish Big Start is number ten. The Giro is one of the three Grand Tours, the others being the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, and is part of the UCI World Tour.

Speaking about the recent announcement, CEO of Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Mark Regan said, “Our involvement in this year’s Giro d’Italia Big Start marks another momentous partnership for Kingsbridge Private Hospital and its medical staff. Our team will be assisting the competitors throughout their journey from Belfast to the Causeway Coast, from there to Armagh and then finally on to Dublin, providing on-road medical assistance and emergency treatment where required.”
