Maintenance Officer with driving duties

Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Sligo are currently looking to fill the role of Maintenance Officer with driving duties. The successful candidate will be based primarily at Kingsbridge Private Hospital on the Ray Macsharry Road in Sligo.

Responsible to Estates and Facilities Manager
Accountable to General Manager

Job Summary

This successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing upkeep of the Hospital’s building which will include: maintenance, painting, joinery, gas porter duties, fire safety, and alarm checks. The role will primarily be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital; however, you may be required to travel across sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • General maintenance and upkeep of buildings i.e. painting, joinery, handyman tasks etc.
  • Responsible for carrying out and recording safety/fire alarm checks throughout the group.
  • Medical Gas Porter Duties.
  • General management of the Happy Fox work ticket system.
  • Driving duties to include the multiple delivery and collections of pathology, pharmacy, medical records, surgical instruments, and replenishment of surgical items and or medical devices items across Sligo town and/or its outskirts. (A company vehicle will be provided)

Communication and Relationship Skills:

  • Develop and maintain effective communication with external relevant service providers, contractors, staff, and management.

Responsibility for Information Resources:

  • Responsible for recording and maintaining all data related to the post including: financial information, cleanliness statistics, audit information, and responsible for the production of scheduled and ad-hoc reports on performance data.
  • Ensure the efficient running of the business by undertaking any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

Person Specification:

Qualifications

Essential

  • Junior Certificate - 5 grades A-C including Maths and English or equivalent
  • Full, clean driver’s license.

Experience 

Essential

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in private healthcare

Special Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Proven experience of joinery, handyman, and painting skills.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs
