Endoscopy

Scopes and Investigation

Endoscopy is a medical procedure that involves using a flexible tube with a camera and light (an endoscope) to examine the inside of the body without the need for major surgery.

Common Symptoms and Conditions We Treat

  • It is commonly used to inspect the digestive system, including the oesophagus, stomach, and intestines, but can also be applied to other areas such as the lungs, bladder, and joints.
  • Endoscopy helps diagnose and sometimes treat conditions like ulcers, inflammation, bleeding, polyps, and cancers, and allows for biopsies or minor treatments to be performed during the same procedure.
