Mr Tim Doyle
Shoulder pain is very common and affects up to a quarter of all people in the UK. The main cause of this pain is caused by rotator cuff injuries. Rotator cuff repair is a surgical procedure to restore damaged tendons in your shoulder, helping to relieve pain and improve movement.
Rotator cuff repair costs vary depending on the procedure and your personal treatment plan. We’ll give you a clear price guide upfront and explain what’s included.
Flexible payment options are available to help spread the cost. Our team is here to answer questions and help you choose the best way to pay.

Rotator cuff repair can reduce shoulder pain and improve your ability to move and use your arm. The procedure can restore strength, making daily tasks like lifting, reaching, or carrying objects easier. It may also prevent further damage to the shoulder joint and tendons.
By addressing the tear directly, the repair supports long-term shoulder health and can improve your overall quality of life.
At Kingsbridge, you’ll be in the expert hands of UK and Ireland’s top orthopaedic consultants.
Depending on your injury our surgeons are able to offer different types of surgery to suit you needs.
Your surgeon will recommend the most suitable method based on the size and location of the tear and your overall shoulder condition.

Knowing what happens at each stage of surgery can help you feel prepared and more at ease. Here’s what you can expect:
Before Surgery
You will have a consultation to assess your shoulder, discuss your medical history, and review imaging such as an MRI or ultrasound. You may be advised to stop certain medications and attend a preoperative assessment to ensure you are fit for surgery.
During Surgery
The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic. Your surgeon will repair the torn tendons using either keyhole or open surgery, depending on your condition. The operation usually takes one to two hours.
After Surgery
After surgery, your shoulder will be supported in a sling. You will begin physiotherapy to restore movement and strength, usually starting with gentle exercises. Recovery can take several months, and following your rehabilitation plan is essential for the best results.
