12th, Jan 2023
If your child is feeling unwell the Children's Symptom Checker is an excellent guide that our own GP’s at Kingsbridge often recommend to parents when wanting to see the best course of action if your child is feeling out of sorts.
Health is important every day of the year, however January seems to be a great month for many of us to review our health habits and look at how we can adjust a few things, especially after the festive season when a lot of us overindulge.
With so many different bugs and viruses going around now, it is important that we ascertain a better understanding of what might be happening, especially where children are concerned.
If your child is feeling unwell there is an excellent guide that our own GP’s at Kingsbridge often recommend to parents when wanting to see the best course of action if your child is feeling out of sorts.
The Children’s Symptom Checker found on the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust website, developed by the Healthier Together Programme and Alder Hey Hospital has a simple traffic light system which will guide you through different situations.
Urgent / emergency situations fall under red symptoms
Less urgent situations fall under amber symptoms
Non-urgent situations fall under green symptoms
From abdominal pain to burns and scalds, to rashes and sore throats, symptoms are also listed in alphabetical order so you can navigate the symptom checker quick and easily.
