Gillian Killiner’s Profile

Gillian Killiner is an award-winning, world-renowned Specialist Consultant Dietitian with 30 years of experience treating thousands of people of all ages. She provides education and training to individuals worldwide and is a recognized media expert in her field.

Gillian grew up and studied in London. While pursuing her BSc.(Hons) Food Science Degree in London in 1993, she secured a prestigious research position in Nutrition and Heart Disease with the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Belfast. She later obtained a Masters Degree (MSc.) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland in 1997. Her specialized training took place in The Charter Mark award-winning Dietetic Department at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Throughout her successful career, she has worked in hospitals in Northern Ireland, specializing in Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, and Cancer. She has also served as the Lead Specialist Dietitian for the Regional Haematology Unit at BCH.

Gillian’s expertise encompasses all aspects of Diet and Health, and she has been the resident Dietitian at Kingsbridge Private Hospital for 16 years. She excels in combining her extensive nutritional knowledge in all areas of medicine, health and wellness, pediatrics, and sports performance optimization.

After training at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, Gillian settled in Belfast and gained experience in every specialty during her 12 years in the NHS, with a specialist post in Haematology at BCH. She has worked with athletes at all levels, optimizing their diet, lifestyle, and performance. Her clients include members of the NI commonwealth team and Olympians.

Gillian’s programs are tailored to each individual and are based on comprehensive data collection, tracking, and improvement to ensure overall well-being. Her specialty lies in gut health, addressing a wide range of issues from the most complex to the most common, including GERD, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, Coeliac Disease, IBD ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s, allergies, food intolerances, and SIBO.

She is highly skilled at addressing weight and resistant weight loss issues, which can be linked to various factors such as hormones, medication, and previous illnesses. Gillian also specializes in treating eating disorders and has been seeing and treating Long COVID since May 2020.

Patients are assessed before an appointment by completing a background questionnaire and food diary, so they are correctly booked to one of our recommended programs. These comprehensive programs include personalised write-ups, recipes, shopping lists, blood test recommendations and adjustments, as well as review appointments. They are the gold standard in our award-winning service.

New appointments are 60 minutes long, and 30-minute review appointments are included. Face-to-face or virtual appointments are offered. Typically, appointments are scheduled 6-8 weeks apart, but this will be decided on an individual basis.
