Kingsbridge Medical Diagnostics (KMD) has now developed into one of the leading imaging service providers in Northern Ireland. Following the expansion of the business we are now in a position to recruit an Allied Health Services Manager. The successful candidate will lead daily operational management of KMD while maintaining a reduced clinical role in their chosen speciality. They will support the day-to-day management of the entire offering of the Allied Health Professions. To include:

  • Computed Tomography
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Ultrasound
  • General X-ray
  • Cardiology
  • Physiotherapy

Job Summary

The successful candidate will lead the daily operational management of all allied health services within the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group. There will be a strong thread of business management in your daily tasks along with the ability to actively remain in the front-line provision of clinical care in your chosen profession. The post holder will have dexterity in blending clinical and business aptitudes and must be able to demonstrate a previous track record in this approach. The post holder will ensure that high standards of service with a patient focused approach is maintained while striving to maximise department efficiency on a daily basis. 


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Overall operational management of Allied Health Staff and personnel within Kingsbridge including those seconded to work within its confines.
  2. To actively expand and develop the business of KMD and KPH alongside other stakeholders
  3. To actively drive and manage progress towards an accredited service under The Quality Standard for Imaging.
  4. To work independently, exercise personal responsibility and maintain a strong clinical commitment and professional development in accordance with professional CPD requirements.
  5. To promote multidisciplinary team working while demonstrating leadership at all times.
  6. To maintain a high level of expertise in the safe operation of at least one clinical modality and manage faults effectively while having sufficient knowledge to work with other professionals to ensure that all services maintain this same standard.
  7. To act as a source of expert knowledge providing clinical and technical training/advice as required.
  8. To actively participate in Audit and Quality Assurance to maintain effective Clinical Governance.
  9. To comply with legislative and company policies and procedures.
  10. To actively support, through your actions, the marketing and promotion of the company.
  11. To show a willingness to work in other modalities if and when the need arises although not on a routine basis.
 
Key Management Duties
  1. To lead the Allied Health services of KMD on a day-to-day basis showing accountability and leadership for its safe and effective delivery.
  2. To assist in the development and maintenance of Policies and Procedures to ensure best practice.
  3. Creating an environment of continuous improvement that fosters clinical and staff collaboration, enhances revenues, controls costs, and improves overall performance.
  4. Take ownership of accreditation processes, lead each department to meet and maintain all targets to achieve relevant accreditation.
  5. To assist in the smooth operation of an efficient service on a daily basis by effectively organising and co-ordinating tasks and resources.
  6. To show initiative, being able to provide solutions to service delivery problems in unforeseen circumstances.
  7. To maintain accurate and concise records to provide the data necessary for the evaluation and development of the service.
  8. Arrange appropriate induction and training for all new staff joining KMD
  9. Undertake staff appraisal and performance management duties.
  10. Ensure the weekly operational rota fulfils Hospital requirements with the appropriate skillset
  11. Maintain the Quality system for KMD including incidents and complaints
  12. To maximise the efficient use of the modalities taking account of both budgetary and safety dimensions of a modern clinical service.
  13. To be proactive in educating both staff of KMD and other referring clinicians or staff in how our services can be maximised as diagnostic and therapeutic tools in modern healthcare.

Qualifications
 
  • BSc Radiography/DCR(R), or equivalent from another Allied Health Professional background with a strong emphasis on Imaging
  • PgD/PgCert PgDip Masters 
  • Recognised cannulation course
Training
 
 
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Willingness to undertake training and development, when necessary
 
Experience
 
 
  • Minimum of 5 year’s post qualification experience, and a minimum 3 years in a specialised modality
  • The ability to demonstrate experience in business development and expansion of the service is essential alongside being able to deliver some clinical services as and when required
  • 3 years previous management experience in the private healthcare sector locally or internationally
Special Knowledge and Skills
 
  • HCPC Registration at time of appointment with relevant PgD or similar
  • Ability to present and convey understanding of the services to external customers
