Who Can Apply?
You can apply for the Cross-Border Healthcare Plan if:
•You get public healthcare in Ireland
•You have a GP or consultant referral for treatment
•You’ll pay for your treatment first, then apply to the HSE for reimbursement (we’ll help with this)
Day Care (Outpatients)

Day care treatments are simple, same-day procedures that don’t require an overnight hospital stay.
Here’s what you need to know before your visit:
• Pre-approval: Not required
• What to bring: GP referral letter and ID
Applies to procedures that don’t involve staying in hospital overnight
Overnight Care (Inpatients)
with the Cross-Border Healthcare Plan
If your treatment requires an overnight stay in hospital, it’s classed as inpatient care.
Here’s what you need to know before your visit:
• Pre-approval: Required (Our One2One team help with you with this)
• What to bring: GP referral letter, photo ID, and HSE pre-approval form
Applies to procedures that don’t involve staying in hospital overnight

• Referral letter: From your GP or consultant for the treatment you need
• Valid ID: Passport or driver’s licence
• Proof of address: Must show your address in the Republic of Ireland
