Clinical Compliance and Information Manager

Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of Clinical Compliance and Information Manager within the Governance Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Lisburn Road but may be required to travel to other Company locations as and when required.

Job Summary

The Compliance and Information Manager will work to support operational managers and service teams in the achievement of excellence across all services. Leading, innovating and supporting the development of improved performance and compliance in service delivery across the range of healthcare services provided by Kingsbridge Healthcare Group.


Key Responsibilities:
 

  1. Work with the directors, managers and staff to deliver Kingsbridge Healthcare Group’s quality, compliance and information agenda
  2. Develop, manage and deliver systems to ensure we maintain high standards throughout the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group
  3. Work with directors and managers to ensure the organisation is compliant with the RQIA’s regulatory requirements under the Independent Health Care Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005, The Regulation and Improvement Authority (Independent Health .Care) (Fees and Frequency of Inspections (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2011 and the Independent Health Care Minimum Standards. 
  4. Ensure compliance with PHIN, NJR, ISO 9001 and any other national bodies as this list expands.
  5. Support the embedding of a culture of continuous quality improvement and assurance across all services, ensuring that quality is owned by all staff
  6. Manage the tender process for Kingsbridge Private Hospital (Belfast) in terms of collecting and collating the information required from managers across the Group in order to submit a private tender.
 
Compliance & Quality Management:
 
  1. Contribute to the development of a sound Compliance and Quality framework that fosters a culture and systems of ownership and accountability, whilst encouraging innovation and problem solving
  2. Ensure this promotes the integration of clinical risk management, clinical audit and the management of under-performance and education and training in conjunction with the Nurse Clinical Lead
  3. Attend group governance meetings and local quality meetings. 
  4. Provide Compliance and Information, to include Incidents and Complaints data to inform Board Level Reports.
  5. Lead on ISO 9001 for the Group.
 
Information:
 
  1. Be the lead for PHiN, NJR compliance in conjunction with the managers that collate the   information for these submissions
  2. Ensure that we maintain compliance and put process in place to ensure appropriate data capture.
  3. Increase employee awareness through training and development
  4. Ensure private tenders are managed within timeframes and that delegation of tasks for the provision of information to the tender is timely and accurate
 
Training and communication:
 
  1. Develop, organise and facilitate training sessions on areas of responsibility as required
  2. Work with clinical and operational leads to devise policies and procedures to support service delivery and staff development
  3. Ensure that new initiatives and performance trends are communicated fully throughout the organisation
 
Reporting and management of Incidents and Complaints:
 
  1. Ensure systems and records are in place to enable statutory assessments and inspections to be successfully completed
  2.     Support the management of reporting of incidents, manage the complaints and incidents matrices.
  3. Ensure Learning is maximised and shared.
  4. Manage the incident and complaint process for the Group companies. Delegate responsibility for the completion of Incidents and Complaint investigations to managers in the Group companies.  Ensure these incident and complaint investigations and letter responses have been completed appropriately, thoroughly, within required timescales and are handled according to RQIA regulations.
  5. Collate and monitor all reported incidents, analysing for trends and produce regular reports.  Report incidents internally and externally, including RQIA/RIDDOR reporting
  6. Ensure appropriate escalation to Director/Board/Insurers for any areas of risk
  7. Prepare regular reports for the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group Board in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer of KHG.
  8. Prepare an annual report and development plan, in conjunction with Nurse Clinical lead and Patient Safety Nurse, for the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group.
  9. Promote evidence based national and local information to support change in practice and quality development
  10. Assist in investigations of serious untoward incidents, including as appropriate root cause analysis and writing of reports with findings and recommendations
  11. Research and write policies and procedures relating to same.
  12. Work with operational managers to constantly improve complaints handling.

Qualifications
  • Clinically qualified with knowledge and experience of compliance, information, quality and risk
  • Graduate level qualification
Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in an area involved in compliance, quality, information and risk.
  • Root Cause Analysis tools and techniques
Special Knowledge and Skills
  • Detailed understanding of compliance, information, quality and risk within a hospital/healthcare environment.
  • Understand and translate RQIA regulations into appropriate local strategies and plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly with respect to negotiation and influencing - a proven ability to influence others to achieve change
  • Written and verbal communication skills including ability to present evidence and study findings.
