Shawgi Omer’s Profile

Mr. Shawgi Omer is a Consultant Urologist at Letterkenny University Hospital. He is a core urologist specialising in the management of a wide range of benign urological conditions affecting both male and female patients. All of his urological training has been completed in the Republic of Ireland.

Treatments and areas of interest

  • Management of benign prostate conditions, including surgical treatments such as TURP, Rezūm, and iTind
  • Treatment of urinary tract stone disease
  • Female urology
  • Diagnostic urology for cancer, including transperineal (TP) prostate biopsy
  • Running haematuria and PSA clinics
  • Investigation and management of testicular cancer
  • Treatment of urinary tract infections in both men and women
  • Resection of bladder tumours

Qualifications

  • MB BS- University of Juba, SUDAN 1996.
  • MRCSEd-2007
  • Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery-2011: IRCAD, Strasbourg, France.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Management, University College Dublin 2014.
  • FRCSI (Urol)- Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. 2019.
