Sri Kamalarajah’s Profile

Mr Kamalarajah is a Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital disorders.

Mr Kamalarajah has performed over 4,000 cataract operations as well as numerous oculoplastic surgical procedures.

Mr Kamalarajah is based at the Royal Victoria Hospital and also has sessions in the Mater and Downpatrick Hospitals. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Dundee. and completed his basic Ophthalmic training in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. During this time, he also undertook a period of ophthalmic research towards a Doctor of Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast.

Mr Kamalarajah became a Fellow in Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in 2002. He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Altnagelvin Hospital, Londonderry, in 2003. He moved to the Belfast Trust in June 2011, where he is currently based.

  • Fellowship in Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal Surgery, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in 2002
