Mr Scott McCain’s Profile

Scott McCain is a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon. His NHS practice is in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, primarily in the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.

Mr McCain specialises in the investigation of, and surgery for, patients with reflux, hiatal hernias, swallowing problems, gallstones and hernias.

He trained in Northern Ireland in general and advanced upper gastrointestinal surgery and furthered this with fellowship training in an internationally recognised centre of excellence for upper GI and bariatric surgery* in Sydney, Australia.

*Bariatric surgery is not a service currently available at Kingsbridge Hospital.

Personal profile

Mr McCain balances work alongside his family life. He is married with three young daughters, recently added a dog to the family and enjoys hill walking, cycling, skiing and all watersports.
