Mr Ged Smith’s Profile

Mr Smith consults on all conditions affecting the mouth and jaws, all aspects of Oral Surgery, facial trauma, facial pain, salivary gland disorders and the surgical treatment of benign and malignant facial skin lesions.

Mr Smith is both Medically and Dentally qualified, appearing on the Oral Surgery specialist list of the GDC as well as the Maxillofacial Surgery specialist list of the GMC.

Since completion of his Higher surgical training in 2000, Mr Smith has worked extensively within the UK, holding substantive Consultant posts at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Blackburn Royal Infirmary. He is currently employed as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Altnagelvin Area Hospital.

Throughout this time, as well as general Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he has developed special interests in the treatment of benign and malignant facial skin lesions along with the surgical treatment and reconstruction of malignant lesions of the mouth and jaws. He is currently a core member of the multidisciplinary teams delivering these treatments at Altnagelvin Hospital.
