Mr. Donal McAuley’s Profile
Mr. Donal McAuley is a consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and currently employed in the Ulster Hospital Dundonald. His sub specialist interest is in facial deformity and trauma.
Having completed his core surgical training to become a member of the royal college of surgeons he embarked on a dental degree to follow a career path in maxillofacial surgery, allowing him to focus and specialise solely on facial and oral surgery. He completed his specialist training in the West of Scotland, having the privilege to work and train in all of the major maxillofacial units in Scotland and gain experience across the whole breadth of the speciality.
His specialist interest is hard and soft tissue facial deformity. He has extensive experience in orthognathic surgery, including virtual planning for underlying facial skeletal asymmetry and facial profile imbalances in addition to camouflage procedures such as onlay implants to augment the overlying soft tissue profile. He works closely with his consultant orthodontic colleagues to deliver the most stable and aesthetic outcome for his patients.
Mr. McAuley consults on all conditions affecting the mouth and jaws in addition to temporomandibular joint problems, salivary gland disorders and surgical treatment of benign and malignant facial skin lesions.
