Gillian Killiner’s Profile
Gillian Killiner RD is an award-winning Specialist Consultant Dietitian with over 30 years of experience in nutrition, health and wellbeing. She is the founder of 121 Dietitian and has been consulting at Kingsbridge Private Hospital for over 16 years.
Gillian originally studied Food Science in London and, during her degree, secured a prestigious research position investigating Nutrition and Heart Disease with the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Belfast. She subsequently completed her MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Ulster and undertook specialist clinical training within the renowned Dietetic Department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Following qualification, Gillian spent 12 years working within the NHS across a range of specialties including Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Paediatrics, Oncology and Haematology, where she held a specialist position within the Regional Haematology Unit in Belfast.
Today, Gillian works with adults and children experiencing a wide variety of health concerns. She has particular expertise in gastrointestinal health and is one of the few dietitians in Northern Ireland trained by King’s College London to deliver the Low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Gillian is known for her thorough, evidence-based and highly personalised approach, helping patients understand the root causes of symptoms and develop practical nutrition and lifestyle strategies to improve their health and quality of life.
