Dr. Patrick McIlwaine’s Profile

Dr McIlwaine is a consultant gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon currently working as a substantive NHS consultant in the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen since 2016.

He completed his primary medical degree in Queens University Belfast with honours and did most of his gynaecological training in NI. In 2013, he undertook a 2-year fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and endometriosis surgery in King Edward’s Memorial hospital in Perth, Western Australia. His specialist interests include pelvic pain, endometriosis, menstrual disorders,  fibroids and hysteroscopic procedures in addition to a wide range of gynaecological conditions.

Dr McIlwaine aims to provide a compassionate patient centred approach taking into account the sensitive nature of the consultation. At your first visit he will do an individualised assessment and make a plan to achieve the best possible outcome.
