Dr Monica Monaghan’s Profile

Dr Monaghan MB BCH BAO, PhD, MRCP(UK), is a Consultant Cardiologist at The South West Acute Hospital and Kingsbridge Private Hospital.

Dr Monaghan MB BCH BAO, PhD, MRCP(UK), is a Consultant Cardiologist at The South West Acute Hospital and Kingsbridge Private Hospital. Her specialist interests include general and acute cardiology and cardiac imaging that includes transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, dobutamine stress echocardiography, cardiac MRI and coronary artery CT.

Dr Monaghan offers assessment of chest pain (coronary artery disease/Angina), valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and cardiomyopathies and palpitations and syncope (black-outs).

Dr Monaghan received her medical degree with distinction from Queens University and trained in Northern Ireland before completing a cardiac MRI fellowship at Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

Dr Monaghan has published her research in peer reviewed medical journals and presents her findings at leading international cardiology conferences.
