Dr Brian McClements’s Profile

IDr McClements is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, based at the Mater Hospital, Belfast. He also practices at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and his private practise is at Kingsbridge Private Hospital.   

His areas of specialist interest include echocardiography (heart scans) including stress and trans-oesophageal (TOE) echocardiography, management of coronary heart disease and heart failure and percutaneous coronary intervention (heart dye tests/angioplasty/stenting).

His private clinic takes place at the Kingsbridge Private Hospital. He has over 24 years of clinical experience at consultant level and is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Queens University.

  • Mr McClements has authored publications in the course of his career relating to arrhythmia prediction after MI (heart attack), the assessment of chest pain by exercise testing on a direct access basis, treatment of coronary artery disease and the role of serum Troponin (TnT) in the diagnosis of heart attack.  He has also (co-) authored numerous case reports.
